Revenge win gives Galilean a 3-0 start to the 2018-19 season.
GCA struggled early, but was able to right the ship in the second half and pull away for a 79-63 win over defending KCSAA State Runner Up CCHE. It was the Hawks that knocked Galilean out of the State Tourney in last year’s semi finals.
Senior Lee Van Lew II led the Eagles in scoring and rebounding with a 24-point, 11-board performance Tuesday night (Nov. 6). Van Lew shot the ball at nearly a 70% clip while adding two steals in the win. Caleb Burrows poured in 23 points adding six rebounds and two assists. The junior shot 50% from the floor. Galilean had five in double figures as senior Javion Jackson scored 12 while seniors Caleb Lewis and Lucas Cook each added 10 points. Lewis and Cook tied for the assist lead in the contest for the Eagles with three dimes a piece. Aaron Brown impacted the game with nine rebounds and two blocks on a night when the freshman couldn’t get his shot to fall.
